by Nellie Kluz. 2024, US, 72 min.
A government work program brings students from all around the world to the US for the ultimate American experience. Coming from countries like Turkey, Romania, Jamaica, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic, this group finds themselves in Wisconsin Dells, “The Waterpark Capital of the World.” Working long hours for little money, their fantasies of a breezy American summer quickly get a reality check. Both funny and sobering, this debut feature by New York filmmaker Nellie Kluz beautifully captures the bizarre experience of working in a seasonal tourist town.
