Images accumulate like little epiphanies in Paul Clipson’s films. Always favoring spontaneity and gestures of chance, the visionary San Francisco filmmaker was known for his astonishing sensory cascades where layers of double exposures become emotionally charged exaltations of light and color. Paul Clipson’s films are embodiments of the pleasure of seeing, the joy of attention and discovery. We conclude our festival with two of his rarely screened works and live music by his close collaborator Jefre Cantu-Ledesma.
