While serving as the NYC Department of Sanitation's Public Artist in Residence, sTo Len discovered a forgotten municipal TV studio, and with it a treasure trove of archival footage — more than 500 hours of training videos, PSAs, interviews, cartoons, and news broadcasts documenting decades of New York City through its trash. Discard Records playfully excavates the invisible labor behind sanitation and our ever-evolving relationship with waste.
We're pleased to present a work-in-progress screening and conversation with interdisciplinary artist sTo Len.
